Poland is a medium-sized holding to the west of the Waystation. Poland was built around an old spring water bottling plant, and the spring under the plant is still clean. Now, instead of bottling the water, it’s piped into the settlement and to the Waystation, which is Poland’s largest trading partner. Poland does get some food from the Waystation, but the largest trade good they receive by value is gasoline, which they can’t produce themselves.
The pipeline between the Waystation and Poland was old water pipe dug up, repaired and reinforced. The pipe was reburied, but occasionally local marauders do try to sabotage the pipe. The relatively short distance combined with pressure regulators on both sides mean that even if the pipe were successfully breached, both sides would know about it and send someone to deal with it within a day. Thanks to the efforts of Hooch and his bastards though, the pipe has never been out of commission long enough to disrupt anything.
